Weekly Wednesday

Dear Readers,

Whoo -It’s been a little while! I went on a berry picking rampage that resulted in about six gallons of raspberries and blueberries in the freezer (but not a lot of photos or blog posts), Maple and I have been running crazy to get as much built and done before everyone comes into town for the Ceremony and a dear, dear friend who I hadn’t seen in 6 years came up to see me before the Ceremony for almost five days (which resulted in a ton of photos but no blog posts. Yet.)

Other highlights include:

I’ve rediscovered my green Carhartt overalls. They’re about five sizes too big, so of course they are all I’ve been wearing for the past few weeks.

I went crazy and spent $150.00 on Weck Canning Jars. Say it with me people, “Worth. Every. Penny.”

Maple and the folks from Bunchberry Farms went to Chitina and limited out for salmon in under seven hours (I stayed home with a puppy that was recovering from surgery). A household is allowed thirty fish each, so both ourselves and the Bunchberry Farm folks have thirty lovely Copper Reds in our freezer for the winter ahead.

Food Clara cooks. Breakfast burrito with fresh lettuce and basil, shredded cheese, poached eggs (from our CSA) and fancy mustard. Delish.

A trip with Clara Marie is always too short. This was taken on the day she left.
