My darling brother Alex came over on Sunday. Since it was cold, we had a nice spend-the-night party. Maple made chestnuts in our cast iron frying pan and he and Alex dug into said Chestnuts with GUSTO! I’ve never been a chestnut fan (that’s my inner Scrooge talking there) so I was happy to document the chestnut eating.
While we could have wiled the hours away, lost in chestnut shangri-la, there were projects to do. Maple had skulls to clean and I had ornaments to make (my blog last week about homemade gifts? Yep, still making them.) Whilst cleaning/making we all watched a movie called ‘Strike’ (available at the Noel Wien library) about the largest strike in history, that started at the Lenin Shipyard in Poland. The movie wasn’t half-bad, I would actually recommend it, but that might also be because watching a movie with Alex and Maple is a fairly hilarious endeavor.
It might have been -30 outside, but inside it was 70 degrees of warm and toasty familial love.
Cheers and love,
Maple and Me
